I have stumbled on a luminous quality in the swan and its reflection. It makes the images seem lively which reflects the early morning light and the smooth water.
I've used modestly primitive means: often a mix of pastel, charcoal, diluted ink, and opaque paint on lightweight paper. I'm influenced in this endeavor by Degas' monoprints, charcoal drawings of Seurat, and renderings of water by the Norwegian Impressionist Frits Thaulow.
