"The year 2020: what to say?
It began quietly enough but what few of us knew was that a contagious and deadly virus had invaded and would change life in Massachusetts and the world: SARS-CoV-2 was on the march. Many are no longer able to tell the story.
As I write this (May 2021), after over a half million American deaths, several vaccines have amazingly been put into service but the world and America seems profoundly divided, damaged and almost incoherent.
The appeal of Nature where these drawings were made, is that everything is coherent. The river rises and falls and animals come and go. Unique and marvelous things occur, noticed by a few. I hope these drawings, or at least the knowledge of my personal effort, brings you pleasure or encouragement to engage again with the world outside your door."
