Birds of Prey

On my morning walk I pass by a grove of tall pine trees. I frequently see Red tailed hawks perching there. They hunt in the field below. I have many drawings of these majestic birds.

When President Trump was reelected almost two years ago, I began drawing the hawks from memory and this has become a way to express my feelings about all things Trump-related. Artistically, the process helps me warm-up in the morning and the format is connected to my love for various Asian traditions of paintings of birds of prey. Here are a few examples from this year. If you want to see more, the series is here at my flickr account in an album titled "Angry Birds."
